If you’ve spent any time lurking on the internet over the past decade, you’ll have noticed that somewhere between memes turning into GIFs and the comeback of all things Y2K, there’s been a colourful revival of craft. Painting, sculpting, crocheting, colouring in, moulding, it’s now cool to be creative. And if you’re keen to get involved and walk away with a handful of handmade pieces while you’re at it, here are four places in Lusaka to get your craft on.

Brush & Brew Art Cafe

Located within Fallsway Arena, Brush & Brew Art Cafe is a vibrant new crafting spot that satisfies both your creative urges and your taste buds. The colourful café serves everything from all-day breakfasts to hearty lunches and decadent desserts, alongside a wide menu of crafting options. You can paint pottery, canvases, bookmarks, tote bags, whatever sparks your creativity.

Simply pay for the material you want to work on (starting around K100), and you’ll have access to all the supplies and the café’s inspiring atmosphere to let your imagination run free. The venue can also be hired for special occasions like birthdays and is completely kid-friendly, making it perfect for creatives of all ages.

Paint and Sip Zambia

Next up, Paint and Sip Zambia is the perfect spot for a fun, creative night out without any art experience required. Whether it’s a birthday celebration, a casual hangout with friends, team-building, or a date night, an experienced artist guides every session, so all you need to bring is your enthusiasm.

Walk-ins are welcome from 11 hrs to 22 hrs, and if you’d rather stay in, they’ll even bring the setup to your own venue. Sessions usually cost around K200 per person, which includes a canvas you can take home. You’ll find them at 13 Chindo Road, Woodlands, opposite Pinnacle Mall, Lusaka - a relaxed, inspiring space to sip, paint, laugh, and leave with your very own masterpiece.

Crochet Hub Zambia

Last but definitely not least, Crochet Hub Zambia is where the cosy charm of grandma’s favourite hobby meets the trendiest craft movement in town. What used to be a pastime for older generations has blossomed into something totally new - think crochet blankets, dresses, even teddy bears, all made with your own two hands.
